Fight Like a Girl: Breastfeed

In a lifetime, 1 in every 7 women are assaulted by breast cancer. So far this year over 207,000+ women have been diagnosed in the USA. 39,000+ of those ladies died this year. Doubtless, you know a family who has wrestled and fought against the disease that increasingly targets and threatens femininity around the world.

How do we fight breast cancer? How do we beat breast cancer? How can we keep our daughters and friends and sisters from suffering from breast cancer? Experts say it is important to find it early. Monthly self-breast exams save lives.

Find tumors quickly

Fighting like a girl means more than that.

What a thin ambition to merely catch the enemy when it attacks my territory! I will do more than notice the cancer as it invades. I will also barricade against the opponent so that tumors can’t come near my “assets.” How?

For women with a family history of breast cancer, breastfeeding was shown to reduce risk 59%! That’s not just a number, that the health of a mom, a sister, a daughter, a best friend, a cousin. Although the way breastfeeding inhibits breast cancer is unknown, it is thought to change the hormone levels of a woman to give a defense to malignancy.

The longer a woman breastfeeds the better her body attacks cancer. Breastfeeding also reduces the risk of ovarian, uterine, cervical and endometrial cancer. Now that’s how a girl fights.

Self breast exams are important for every woman. Finding tumors early saves lives. But do more than simply find cancer.
